Why This Matters:
Incorrect DNS records are the primary reason emails get rejected or marked as spam. This quick check ensures your emails maintain maximum deliverability.

1. SPF Record Update (Required)

Your SPF record tells receiving servers you authorize SmtpHosting to send email for your domain.

If you don't have an SPF record:
Add this TXT record to your domain's DNS:

v=spf1 include:spf.maildns.net ~all

If you have an existing SPF record:
Add include:spf.maildns.net to your current record.

Examples:

  • Current record with IP addresses:
    v=spf1 ip4:111.222.1.1 ip4:203.0.113.5 ~all
    Updated record:
    v=spf1 ip4:111.222.1.1 ip4:203.0.113.5 include:spf.maildns.net ~all

  • Current record with multiple mechanisms:
    v=spf1 a mx ip4:64.69.41.68 ~all
    Updated record:
    v=spf1 a mx ip4:64.69.41.68 include:spf.maildns.net ~all

* Those are examples only, you have to set your own IPs (if any) but always append our mechanism within the record include:spf.maildns.net

2. DKIM & MX Records (Required)

These are unique to each domain and essential for email authentication.

To get your specific records:

  1. Login to your SMTP dashboard

  2. Navigate to Email Deliverability

  3. Copy your personalized:

    • DKIM record (CNAME or TXT)

    • MX records (Server Name)

3. Verify Your Configuration

Check your setup in minutes:

  1. Visit your Email Deliverability section

  2. The system will automatically validate:

    • SPF configuration

    • DKIM authentication

    • MX record setup

    • Overall domain health

You may also use third party mail-testers to check mail health

Action Required:
Complete these updates within the next 24 hours to prevent any email delivery issues. Most DNS changes propagate within 4-24 hours.
